This is the first of 5 Group Rides for New Riders, to be held on the first Saturday in April, May, June, July, and August. The purpose of the ride is to introduce riders to group riding, something that’s a little different from riding by oneself.
It is also aimed at attracting new cyclists to RABA and getting more riders into the sport. The ride will depart from RF&P portion of Crump Park (3400 Mountain Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23060) and follow the normal ABC route with a stopover at Ashland. For stronger riders, there will be a 12-mile extension.
For those of you that are not accustomed to riding in a group, we will be having a quick class to discuss hand signals, bike etiquette and vocabulary before we start pedaling. This will help you understand the things that are going on with the other riders around you and make it safer for you and them.
